"all about me"

Here are a few of my interests and hobbies.

To start, I like to do anything and everything with my kids. I haven't gotten tired of going to ride "Thomas the Train", making forts in the living room, baking cookies, playing at the park, or singing B-I-N-G-O. I try to find time for the kinds of things they enjoy, because thats what my mom always did for us!

I also love to keep up with my shows. Something I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't have my DVR. Television watching was revolutionized when that technology was made available. That is one thing I would never want to have to watch television without! Some of the shows I always try to make time for are: Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Project Runway, and Private Practice.

I enjoy reading a good book, but I haven't the "quiet" I need to do that at home anymore. So, I use my extra time at work to read. Right now I am reading the lastest book by Wally Lamb. He has put out 3 novels over the last 10 or so years counting this one. The first one was She's Come Undone, and the second was I Know This Much is True. Both books I loved, so when I saw this one for sale at Books-A-Million, I splurged on the hardback. I know I should have waited, but I was so excited to get another one of his novels.

I enjoy "crafting". This could be anything from using my mom's embroidery machine, to painting floor cloths. There is always some new project me and my mom want to try. We have had many a small business venture to friends, family, and co-workers. Its kind of a joke with us now, what else can we make and sale. Right now we make badge holders that have a covered button velcroed to them so they are interchangeable. We monogram initials on the badges and make holiday themed covers to keep people happy. We've done a lot of business this football season.

I like to get together with friends, but that is hard to do for me right now because childcare isn't always readily available for me to just go "hang-out", but that is one of those sacrifices I considered before I decided to have Archer on my own. My mom already watches him for me when I work, so I don't like to have to ask her to keep him for me on the weekends too. Most of the time I end up going out to eat and shopping with the kids and my mom and dad. A few years ago, that would have bummed me out, but I've grown up a lot since then.

Our latest adventure is camping. My parents bought a pop-up camper and we have been enjoying the great outdoors. I am looking forward to our next camping trip this Fall.

This is just a snip-it of some of those things that keep me busy.

  1. I am also a Wally Lamb fan - how are you liking this new one? I haven't read it yet, but I am definitely interested, since I loved the first two books. Nice to "meet" you! :)

  2. Hey Elizabeth, I am about 4 chapters in, and it didn't suck me in right from the beginning, but now I can tell that it is really going to be a good read. it takes me a long time to finish a novel these days since i only get to read at work, but i will let you know when i finish it!
